“I See You” is a creation by Sandra Pearce, of Okeechobe, Florida. The subject is a Secretary bird, native to Africa, that she photographed while visiting the San Diego Zoo. “They have long legs and look like they are wearing yoga pants,” Sandra explains. “They are primarily known for their ability to kill snakes by stomping on them. He seemed to enjoy posing while I photographed him.” The humming bird was photographed in the Aviary, as well as the pink cactus flower. After returning home to Florida, Sandra decided to paint the Secretary bird in an unusual pose, showing off his beautiful eyes and long eyelashes. Sandra will be teaching a class on “Painting with Photoshop” at the 2021 Texas School of Professional Photography in April. See Sandra’s class description on page 23.
