“Silent Serenity” was created by Judy Reinford. While on assignment for some landscape images, she noticed this elegant white egret which was photographed from a distance. “The bird stood poised in the soft glow of late afternoon light, surrounded by a stillness that felt almost sacred.” she recalls. From there, she set out to recreate the scene, based on the mood etched in her memory, with careful attention to the atmosphere… the cool mist, gentle ripples, and the subtle play of light that suggests the hush of day’s end. The finished work is a reconstruction of the feeling Judy had in her memory that day with light and storytelling through compositing and painterly retouching and tells the truth as she experienced it.
