“When Grace Speaks, Colors Whisper” was created by Chris Fritchie of McKinney, Texas, during a workshop he was teaching on lighting. According to Chris, “Everything was going great until I realized the little purple flowers on the swing ropes were impossible for someone who is colorblind like me to fix without losing my mind.” That’s when he decided to go with a black-and-white image, leaning into his fine-art style. “Sometimes, the very thing you think is a setback ends up being your creative edge.” The image won Best Portrait of a Child, Best Overall Portrait Entry, ASP State Elite Award, CPP Award, and Best of Show at the 2025 Texas PPA Image Competition.
