“Pretty in Pink” was created by Mary Fisk-Taylor of Richmond, Virginia, during a session for a long-time client’s youngest child, Katelyn. The goal was to capture the 5-year-old’s flamboyant personality and to mark an important milestone in her life. The image was taken toward the end of the session using a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III with a 24-300mm lens at 140mm and a 17×17 Larson Softbox on a Profoto Acute 600B strobe. “When I saw this dress during the design consultation, I knew this was going to be a super fun session.” Mary Fisk-Taylor and Jamie Hayes are instructors at the Texas School of Professional Photography.
