“His Legacy” was created by John Hartman, one of the instructors for the 2022 Texas School of Professional Photography. John’s high school photography teacher and mentor, Warner Halverson, asked him to help sell some of the photo gear he wasn’t using. “He had assembled quite a collection over the years,” explains Hartman, “and I asked him if I could make a light painting of some of his more iconic pieces. These were film cameras that everyone lusted after in the late 60s and early 70s and Warner had them and more.” Seventy-five exposures were created using a Hasselblad H6D-100c and 120mm lens at f22 and ISO 100. Two small flashlights lit small individual areas of the scene, from which 36 separate layers were combined in Photoshop to create the final image.
